Purpose

 

Learning Clicks Ambassadors are responsible for providing presentations to students in in the K-12 system, parents and other educational influencers across the province as well as creating content in the forms of blog and video blogs for the Learning Clicks website. Ambassadors utilize numerous awareness planning tools and resources in their presentations, including the Learning Clicks website and This is Your life: a Career and Education Planning Guide. These presentations and the Ambassador driven content on the website provide awareness about Alberta's post-secondary education system, planning mechanisms and tools , all while encouraging individuals to plan and prepare for further studies beyond high school.

Responsibilities and Activities

 
  • Contact and liaise with schools and other organizations to arrange presentations according to prescribed protocols that result in effective and efficient presentation bookings
  • Provide presentations to students and other interested groups according to the program requirements with specific adaptations as required
  • Evaluate and revise presentations according to established procedures in order to achieve set outcomes
  • Market post-secondary planning programs, resources and Campus Alberta opportunities at various events and conferences through-out the province
  • Produce content on a bi-weekly schedule for the Learning Clicks website, which will include blog posts, video blogs and scheduled social media interaction duties.
  • Share best practices with other team members across the province and make recommendations for future Learning Clicks enhancements

Scope

 
  • The focus of this position and its responsibility is to provide awareness of the Campus Alberta system and to inform and motivate students in Grades 6 to 12 about the importance of planning for post-secondary education.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 
  • Current post-secondary student in his/her second or subsequent year of studies
  • Related education or experience such as communication, marketing, public relations, social media account management
  • Knowledge of post-secondary opportunities
  • Familiar with various audio-visual aids utilized in presentations to the public
  • Excellent communication skills and public speaking experience
  • Experience with blog writing or producing video blogs
  • Client focused and adaptable
  • Effective organizational and time management skills and the availability to present during school hours
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Ability to keep accurate records and write reports
  • Must have a valid Class 5 Driver's Abstract (to be provided at interview) and access to a reliable vehicle for travel within Alberta.
