Information for Persons with Disabilities

The following programs and services may help persons with disabilities prepare for, obtain and maintain employment.

ALIS (Alberta Learning Information Service)

The provincial gateway for career, learning and employment information and services.

Alberta Works Centres

Programs and services including career and employment income support, child support and health benefits. There are 53 Alberta Works Centres across the province.

Alberta Supports Contact Centre

A contact centre for general inquiries on income support, adult and child health benefits, child support services, and Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped. Referrals may also be made to a variety of career and employment services.

Disability Related Employment Supports

Provides assistance to Albertans in overcoming the barriers to employment created by their disability.

Alberta Employment First Strategy

The strategy calls on governments, employers, agencies and Albertans to work together to welcome more people with disabilities into our workforce.

Premier's Council on the Status of Persons with Disabilities

The council is an advisory body to the Alberta government. It aims to improve the lives of persons with disabilities by listening to issues of the disability community and communicating these issues to government.

Government of Canada - Persons with Disabilities Online

Provides access to services and information, including employment for persons with disabilities.
